The 2026 All-Orange Empire Conference softball awards highlighted the outright champion Saddleback Bobcats as they saw sophomore slugger Ka'ui Garcia named OEC Most Valuable Player of the Year while second year head coach Krysten Fisher and her staff earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
The Saddleback softball team clinched at least a share of the Orange Empire Conference championship with a 12-11 win at Santiago Canyon College on Tuesday in Orange. It is the first conference title for the softball program since 1988.
Freshman third baseman Violet Avila came through in the clutch, driving in the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Hawks an 8–7 walk-off victory over Orange Coast College.
The Orange Empire Conference softball season is officially underway as all eight teams got started with three game series last week.
